Emotions, Sabotage or Creative Catalyst?

Emotion Dice

Sabotage

Out of control, a phrase that describes many instances where we don’t have the ability to make good decisions. Many times our emotions are at fault, have you ever replayed an argument back after spending a moment to collect your thoughts? Our biggest arguments or conflicts arise when we don’t have a grasp on our emotions. Remember a gentleman never loses control, that is something we should all strive for.

Creative Catalyst

Currently part of my time is devoted to the musical ambitions of Instant Classics. They are a very talented group and close friends of mine. When I listen to their songs, you can feel the emotions that guided their pen. Emotions can be the fire that creates a great work of art. We should all strive to have a hobby that lets us constructively release our emotions. For me, no matter the mood I find myself in, the gym can lead to a great improvement in mental ability. The greater goal of these exercises is to remain in control of our emotions and make the decisions that will best impact our lives.

We all know I love lists, Ten creative things to do with all those pesky emotions:

  1. Music
  2. Drawing
  3. Painting
  4. Poetry
  5. Exercise
  6. Blogging
  7. Digital design
  8. Cooking
  9. Volunteering

10.  Meditation

Although each option is of varying levels of creativeness, all of them provide a way to properly handle the changing tides of our emotions. We can make angry or soothing music. We can paint with vigor or at a leisurely pace. Each option is a way of expressing our emotions that does not cloud our judgment or force us to make hasty, ill-fated choices.
